The pharmaceuticals take hold as the Flakes ditch all their previous material and swerve off in a new direction. An original performance written and produced by the Spunkflakes, Ömfintlig Hud — Scandinavian word for Sensitive Skin that we lifted from a bottle of hand creams — was performed as part of Lois Weaver’s Club Deviance night at the Almeida Theatre on 4th and 5th September 1996.
Club Deviance
Overly ambitious and a bit of a disaster in places, but we loved the look of it. Still arguing to this day about reprising the Ömfintligs and their pulsing red baboon arses. Something to keep the conversation flowing when enjoying a drink. Written, Produced & Performed by the Spunkflakes: Dan Salmon, Shaun McDermott, Paul Neesham. Costumes designed by the Spunkflakes. Dressing & Costumes by Lorna Robinson. Video & Photography by Simon Hayward. In association with Gay Sweatshop and Almeida Cabaret.

The Ömfintligs
The creative juices were flowing as we moved into latex and dye-cast panels for our great big cocoon.
